Seattle Residents: Are $300 Electric Bills Common?
New We recently moved to the Seattle area from Texas, and I have to admit - the natural beauty, weather, and overall vibe here are amazing. There’s a lot to love about living in the Pacific Northwest. But one thing that really caught me off guard is the electricity bill. Back in Texas, we consistently paid under $100/month. Here in Seattle, we’re on track to cross $300 this month - and honestly, that feels shocking, especially for a ~1000 sq ft apartment. I understand cost of living differences, but a 3x jump in electricity alone seems extreme. Is this normal for this area? Are others experiencing similar bills, or could there be something off in our usage/setup? Would really appreciate hearing what others in the Seattle area are paying and any tips to manage this better.
